Elections

  1. Attached to this email (in a Word doc) is a list of all the positions
and the duties for our annual elections and appointments (to be held at our
Annual General Meeting). Elected positions, appointed positions, and
committee member positions will all need to be filled.
  2. Look through them and submit your nominations to me by email (you are
allowed to nominate yourself). If you are currently in a position, and
would like to put yourself forward to continue in that position, I still
need you to tell me. I will close email nominations on Monday (8/18) at
11:59pm. In person nominations will close at the end of practice on
    Thursday (8/21)
  3. Nominees we be notified (if they didn't self-nominate), and be allowed
to stand for election or step out (you technically have until the AGM, but
the sooner you make your decision, the better).
  4. A list of all of the email nominees will then be published on  Tuesday
    morning (8/12).
  5. Nominees may opt to prepare a position statement (800 words would
probably be the maximum) explaining why they would be the right candidate
for the job. Candidates should have these statement turned in by Tuesday
    night.
  6. Those statements should be put together in one email and sent out to the
    club on Wednesday night (8/20).
  7. This does allow for absentee voting, but only for extenuating
circumstances. You must email me with your reason you can't make it to the
AGM. If your excuse is allowed, then I will take your vote. Absentee votes
would need to be in by 1pm on Friday, to allow for tabulation.
  8. Print-outs of the position statement email will be provided at the AGM.
  9. We can either give each candidate a minute or two (timed) to talk at the
AGM, or read their prepared statement aloud, before voting.
  10. Absentee votes would be added to in-person votes when voting takes
place, so winners may be immediately announced.

Subject: [Rhino] Elections

  1. Attached to this email (in a Word doc) is a list of all the positions and the duties for our annual elections and appointments (to be held at our Annual General Meeting). Elected positions, appointed positions, and committee member positions will all need to be filled.

  2. Look through them and submit your nominations to me by email (you are allowed to nominate yourself). If you are currently in a position, and would like to put yourself forward to continue in that position, I still need you to tell me. I will close email nominations on Monday (8/18) at 11:59pm. In person nominations will close at the end of practice on Thursday (8/21)

  3. Nominees we be notified (if they didn't self-nominate), and be allowed to stand for election or step out (you technically have until the AGM, but the sooner you make your decision, the better).

  4. A list of all of the email nominees will then be published on  Tuesday morning (8/12).

  5. Nominees may opt to prepare a position statement (800 words would probably be the maximum) explaining why they would be the right candidate for the job. Candidates should have these statement turned in by Tuesday night.

  6. Those statements should be put together in one email and sent out to the club on Wednesday night (8/20).

  7. This does allow for absentee voting, but only for extenuating circumstances. You must email me with your reason you can't make it to the AGM. If your excuse is allowed, then I will take your vote. Absentee votes would need to be in by 1pm on Friday, to allow for tabulation.

  8. Print-outs of the position statement email will be provided at the AGM.

  9. We can either give each candidate a minute or two (timed) to talk at the AGM, or read their prepared statement aloud, before voting.

  10. Absentee votes would be added to in-person votes when voting takes place, so winners may be immediately announced.
