Help keep Tacoma's waterways clean by gluing "No Dumping, Drains to Puget Sound" markers next to storm drains in the Stadium Neighborhood of Tacoma.

When: 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 16, 2011. Lunch for the volunteers will be provided following the curb marking project.

Where: Meet at Stadium High School, 111 North E Street, Tacoma, WA 98403

Why: Water that flows down storm drains empties directly into our rivers, lakes and Puget Sound. This water is not treated, allowing pollutants from streets to be washed into the waterways where we swim, fish and boat and where salmon and other important critters live. The City of Tacoma, Citizens for a Healthy Bay and Stream Team are partnering to permanently place the "No Dumping" message beside storm drains throughout Tacoma.

This project is sponsored by City of Tacoma Environmental Services, Pierce Conservation District Stream Team and Citizens for a Healthy Bay.

**If you have a group that would like to volunteer to mark storm drains in other areas during the summer, please contact the City of Tacoma EnviroChallengers at envirochallenger@cityoftacoma.orgmailto:envirochallenger@cityoftacoma.org or (253) 591-5061.
