Erie Canal Lock E-13 is on schedule to temporarily re-open today at noon.

Didn't happen.  That is what the Notice to Mariners stated, but isn't the
case.

We went through locks 2 - 10 on 10/3, the date of the posted noon opening.
The lockmaster at 10 stated that there was a rumor that the locks were
opening at noon.  I explained that there was a Notice stating such.  He
said he and his boss never heard of it.

He did tell us that lock 11 was closed.  He was right on that point.  There
has never been a notice about that.

We sit in Amsterdam awaiting to hear from the Canal Corp.

Hey Glen,

Does it feel like "Fifteen Years on the Erie Canal?"
http://www.eriecanalsong.com/

I've got a mule, her name is Sal
Fifteen years on the Erie Canal
She's a good old worker and a good old pal
Fifteen years on the Erie Canal

We've hauled some barges in our day
Filled with lumber, coal, and hay
And every inch of the way I (we) know

From Albany to Buffalo

Chorus:
Low bridge, everybody down
Low bridge cause we're coming to a town
And you'll always know your neighbor
And you'll always know your pal
If you've ever navigated on the Erie Canal

Get up there Sal, we've passed that lock,
Fifteen years on the Erie Canal
And we'll make Rome before six o'clock
Fifteen years on the Erie Canal

One more trip and back we'll go
Through the rain and sleet and snow
And every inch of the way I (we) know

From Albany to Buffalo

Low bridge, everybody down
Low bridge for we're coming to a town
And you'll always know your neighbor
And you'll always know your pal
If you've ever navigated on the Erie Canal.

Enjoy....
