The 7th Free Plant Exchange

                                                                                            SaturdayMay 7th,2011

                                                                                                 9:30 A.M. - 1 P.M.

2.       People will be welcome from everywhere

3.       People will not be required to bring any kind of garden seeds, plants, etc. in order to take some home, BUT they are encouraged to try and bring at least one plant from their yard.   The more plants available, the more choices for our visitors

4.       The saved plants help restore oxygen to the atmosphere, and keep more natural products from being thrown into the garden waste bins, which delights the City's Solid Waste Dept.

5.       We will have Master Gardeners on hand to answer questions and identify mystery plants

6.       Those attending can take home a small grocery bag containing one big shovel full of Tagro potting soil, courtesy of the City of Tacoma 

7.       the City of Tacoma Water Dept. will give us some colorful gardening posters to hand out, when possible

8.       It will be a great place for children to find a gift for Mother's Day

9.       This will always be the first Saturday of May, so that people can make it a tradition and put it on their calendars from year to year

"What is the Plant Exchange?" you say.

It's a place where plants can thrive.

The plants you no longer want at home,

Someone else will keep them alive.

 

Someone else will come to look and say,

"Oh, there's some Lily of the Valley!

Next Spring they would look very nice if we planted them

Out by the fence in the alley."

 

So once a year people bring their plants

On a Saturday from 9:30 a.m.  to 1

The Master Gardeners answer questions

And there's Tagro and posters  - it's fun!

 

The date Is May 7, the place is below.

There is no charge.  It's free, you know!

Thus the PLANT EXCHANGE was created and found a home at Immanuel Presbyterian Church in their parking lot, which faces North "I " street.
