George, Regarding your question if anyone was headed to the Bahamas - well,
the Pretty Penny just returned from 6 months away from home port in the
Chesepeake.  We got as far South as Long Island and Conception in the Bahamas.
This is our second year in the Bahamas.  As you may remember, we have the 49
foot Crosswater and it has proved perfect for cruising the Bahamas.  We get
right up to shore so we can snug in during those blows that pass through with
our 3 and half foot draft.  Cats are just so perfect for all the skinny water
in the Bahamas.  We still have only run into a handful of power cats these
last two years, but a ton of sailing cats. I don't know why anyone would buy a
trawler with a 4 and a half foot draft and take it to the Bahamas.  It sure
limits where they can go with it.
