dear music lovers, I'm writing to invite you to an upcoming concert which will be in person as well as in cyberspace-

Destiny City Music Collective presents (not just) Classical Sundays vol 2, featuring music of composers from around the South Sound. Sunday, Sept. 24 at 2 PM. at Center for Spiritual Living, 206 N J Street, Tacoma. Performed by members of the TCC wind ensemble, Tacomarama band and Rainier Symphony, and guitarists Ken Jacobsen and Michael Whitmore. About the composers:

Brendan Allen - "I write music that is a soundtrack to the vivid imagery flashing through my brain. These scenes are inspired by my lived experiences, books I've read or games I've played."

Nancy Rohar writes charming, melodic, nature- inspired music infused with a sense of whimsy and rich harmonies.

Michael Whitmore tends toward the frayed edges of jazz with a hint of outsider music, emphasizing texture and a darker tone color.

Ken Jacobsen writes multi - layered loops with elements of minimalism, ambient, jazz and world music.

performers are: Nancy Rohar (flute),  Brendan Allen (bass clarinet),  Colin Speirs (french horn), Ken Jacobsen (guitar and cello), Michael Whitmore (guitar), Laura Lynn (violin), Jamie Stavlo (clarinet), Darrel Rohar (oboe) and our esteemed percussionist Jacob (sorry, I forgot your last name).

All are welcome - Admission is sliding scale donation, $0-20. All donations go to musicians. If you're visiting Machu Picchu or climbing K2 at that time, no problem, you can take a break and watch herehttp://bit.ly/destinycitymusic, or later. Our next concert, artists TBA, will be on October 22.  Our website is destinycitymusic.orghttp://destinycitymusic.org , and we greatly appreciate any donations- they are what allows us to do things like this. Thanks to CSL and Tacoma Creates for support. Thanks, Ken
