A slower start to the morning however many good birds are around. There are
several new migrants in the park with a few Warbling Vireos, Northern
Waterthrush, Blackburnian Warbler, Least Flycatcher, Great Crested
Flycatcher, Orchard Oriole, and Indigo Bunting. Getting into May, the
migration is definitely picking up and many new species are expected to
arrive in the next couple of days. Some of the significant birds lately;
Willet at the tip, Yellow-breasted Chat at the Sparrow Field, Hooded
Warblers continue on the Woodland Nature Trail, White-eyed Vireo on the
Redbud Trail, Yellow-throated Warbler at the Visitor Centre, and
Clay-coloured Sparrow at the South end of Black Willow Beach. So even
despite the chilly weather, there is lots to be seen at Point Pelee!

Good Birding!

From your Point Pelee hike leaders; Tim Arthur, Emma Burbidge, Karl Konze,
William Konze, Dana Latour, and Pete Read.
