Hello Gators,

Hopefully you have your calendars marked for the first ever Gators Member Meeting taking place on Wednesday, December 17, 7pm-8:30pm at the Y... If not, mark them now!!!  This week I've participated in two meetings with some of the clubs leaders to prepare for the meeting.  We have lots of exciting information to share with you and it's also a great time for you to provide some input.  One of my meetings was with the club coaches. We laid out plans for our tri club workout schedule for the first half of 2015 with particular focus on January-March.  In addition to some minor modifications to the schedule to account for our transition to the "base building" phase of the year, we also are starting aseminar series that will begin on Saturday, December 20 with a seminar on "training plan building" that will be conducted by our Head Coach, Danny Friend. This will take place during the first part of our usual tri club workout slot. 7:15am-8:30am (to be followed by a 45min-1hr bike trainer session).  So please mark your calendars for that event as well!  Participating in these two pre-holidays events will put you in great position to get 2015 off to a fantastic start!  And we can't wait to share all of the other details with you on December 17!

This week's topics include...

·      Accomplishments... 110!!!

·      Who's Next. Keys to success!!!

·      About a Gator... "Chris"mas season!!!

·      In the News. It's Heimer Time!!!

Happy Birthday! Best wishes to Tim Moseby who celebrated his birthday this past Wednesday, December 3!

Accomplishments: 110 was the number for the week. 110% effort and 110 "100's".

·        Abington YMCA Gobble Wobble 5K (Thursday, November 27):

o    Riley Milligan gave 110% in winning his age group.PODIUM!... and also finishing in the top 4% overall (out of almost 1,800 runners). Awesome run, Riley!

o    Dean Milligan also had a great race finishing in the top 20% of both his age group and the entire field. Great job, Dean!

·        Just keep swimming (Sunday, November 30). Nabil Radaoune along with a couple of long distance swimming buddies (Charles Bender and Allison Leigh) decided to do one hundred 100's in the Y pool.  Not only did they accomplish this goal, but they decided to tack on an additional ten 100's for a total of 11,000 yards. 6.2 miles. 10K!  Great job Nabil (and Charles and Allison)!

Who's Next?: What's a Gator to do when it's too cold to race?  Well, head south to "Gator homeland" also known as Key West, Florida. This Saturday, December 6 (tomorrow), Gregg Heimer, Jeff Spillane, and Dave Marine take all of their "Rocky Run" fitness and put it to good use in the Key West Triathlon!  Have fun, guys!

About A Gator - Chris Reiter: In this edition, Chris shares his story of getting into triathlon with us and tells us about what he has planned next!

In The News - Gregg Heimer: A few weeks back we included a note and newspaper article about Gregg Heimer's accomplishment as part of a team from Montgomery County Community College (where Gregg works) in being designated as one of only two community colleges in the USA as a "Bike Friendly University".  Now there are two YouTube videos covering this accomplishment and both feature Gregg very prominently. To top it off, Gregg is sporting his Gators bike jacket during portions of both videos.  Way to go, Gregg!!!  Here are the links to the videos.
