*Josi Callan *

I have dedicated my life to enhancing the realm of the arts, with roles as
a museum director, curator, artist, and executive for various nonprofit
organizations. I was the founding director of the Museum of Glass in
Tacoma, before that director of the San Jose Museum of Art, a contemporary
art museum in the Silicon Valley.  Following the Museum of Glass, I was
director of the Experience Music Project (MoPop) in Seattle for three
years. With these roles, I trust I have cultivated a comprehensive
perspective on the intricacies of the creative process.

I joined Ebb Tide Gallery – in most part – because of the camaraderie I
experienced between the artists and the value they place on the community
and enhancing the arts in Gig Harbor. My role is to help realize that
vision.

My primary medium is oil, I also paint with watercolors and experiment a
bit with print making.  Nature and my surroundings have consistently served
as a source of inspiration. Sunlit paths, waterscapes under blue skies,
blossoming roses and vanishing trails provide me with a myriad of
possibilities. I aim to create a bit of magic with each painting.
