Join us tomorrow at noon for a viewing of Teruko Nimura's Art Installation Wind Circle in Wright Park!
When: Tuesday December 14, 12-1pm
Where: Wright Park (between the Conservatory and the playground)
What: Join local artist Teruko Nimura in Wright Park from 12-1pm. Enjoy a cup of hot cocoa while you view Wind Circle, and pick up a take-home kit to continue the conversation at home. The artwork is inspired by Tibetan prayer flags, meant to encourage a feeling of peace, unity, and belonging. In addition to the installation, Teruko is inviting the community to create their own prayer flags with take-home kits, and share a photo. Kits can be picked up in the park from 12-1pm 12/14, or starting 2pm, 12/14 from the front desk of the Main Branch of the Tacoma Public Library downtown, while supplies last. The artwork is located between the WW Seymour Botanical Conservatory and the playground, and should be up through 12/17/21. Teruko's installation is part of the Metro Parks Tacoma Public Art: Reaching Community (PARC) training program, in collaboration with the Office of Arts & Cultural Vitality.
