Cruising Fleet Controversy Over Who Controls Racing Data

To All –

To state the obvious - racing results at the Nyack Boat Club are “public information” and do not/should not belong to a privileged few -- no matter how much they bully others. Please see the e-mails below.

I strongly suggest that from now on original Cruising Fleet racing results data sheets not be allowed to leave the Nyack Boat Club premises at any time, for any reason. Anyone wishing a copy of the data should feel free to copy the results (IPhone, Club copier, by hand, etc.) but must not be free to take original data home and prevent others from seeing, copying or transcribing the original data. Raw data should remain in the Race Committee ledger books outside of the Race Committee locker, available at all times. I think the Race Committee, to avoid further controversy, might agree to this recommendation.

Again, I remind all Cruising Fleet racers that raw racing data at the Nyack Boat Club is public information and should be available to everyone 24/7.

Yes Eric

I agree RC should be involved with this.

I will make sure RC chair issue an official note how to handle Cruising Fleet results which we all can follow.

Thank you for your efforts

  2. My e-mail, sent to the Fleet before 11 pm, specified the results were unofficial, allowing the official results to be published at some later date.

Lee,

I would like to ask you one more time not to interfere with scoring and return the scoring sheet to the binder at once.

We have asked you this several times but you seem to be behaving in this manner purposely.

If you continue on this path I will bring this to a resolution one way or another  but it will not be pretty.

All race data, info, etc. is to be placed in the appropriate binder outside the race locker as soon as practical after the event.  No data is to be removed from the Club premises.
