Hi all,
A recent article in The CT Post discusses plans to perform much habitat work on the salt marshes of Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison. Audubon Connecticut has scheduled a public meeting on the plans on Monday, Dec 8, 6:40pm at Scranton Library in Madison.
Birders and other interested folks are welcome to attend.

Thanks for sending out a message about the presentation at the Scranton Library on Monday.  Here are all the details and the link to RSVP.  The project at Hammonasset is in the conceptual design phase. It is great time to provide input!!!

On Monday, December 8th, staff from the CT office of the National Audubon Society will be giving a presentation at the Scranton Library in Madison entitled Increasing Coastal Resilience at Hammonasset Beach State Park.  Details are below.  We look forward to sharing information about this project with you.

. How Audubon and our partners are working to restore and protect the park's marsh and eastern shoreline.

Come learn how this collaborative effort is helping to build a more resilient coast for both wildlife and people and share your input to help shape its future!

Also, Audubon created a StoryMap about the value of the salt marshes at Hammonasset (the park is a Globally Important Bird Area for Saltmarsh Sparrow), the threats they are facing, and actions that could be taken to make these marshes more resilience.
