8/22/14 West Haven, Bradley Point Park - 800 Common Terns 4:30 pm - There were approximately 400 Common Terns sitting on a low tide sandbar and another 400 in the air between Bradley Point and the outer jetty. A group of Terns would land on the sandbar and an equal amount would take off from there to join the birds milling about in the air. The rotation was continuous with very little action on the water. 800 is a conservative estimate. Not many Gulls mixed in with them except about a dozen Laughing Gulls. Mike Warner Wilton, Ct.
