A HP 3456A just sold on UK Ebay for 115 UK Pounds or about $160. Does not sound too bad untill you see the pictures.
It's item 110929766811 (click on see original listing).  One front terminal broken off, display filter broken, at least one switch broken, dents all over and corrosion and rust stains all over the rear panel. Obviously a rescue from a skip (dumpster). OK it's a late model but it's a wreck. There are some right mugs out there!

Not to mention the $50 to ship outside the UK.  The 2 highest bidders seem new [i.e., few lifetime eBay transactions].  I don't know availability in the EU; in the USA, a working unit can be had for ~$100, but they sell quickly; sampling ebay, what remains thereafter remains the very pricey, and could give newbies a different scale for what constitutes a 'good deal' :

Hi,
I can buy one from a reputable dealer with warranty for 300 UK Pounds, about 500 USD. A Datron 1081 with "error 5" and bashed up from the same seller went for 263 UK Pounds.
