Circumnavigator Champion for sale

Champion, the 52-foot custom design by William Lapworth that was the first trawler yacht to circumnavigate the world, is for sale in the Chesapeake.

Larry Briggs had Champion built in 1959 and took her around in 1977-80. Briggs went on the voyage around the world three more times in other powerboats. He is currently (February 2010) somewhere between Hawaii and Malaysia aboard Neptune's Chariot on what could be his fifth circumnavigation.

Trawlers & Trawlering has a feature presentation in the works on Briggs, truly a passagemaker beyond compare.

DIY projects aboard Beach House

Captain Chuck Baier is keeping busy aboard Beach House, a Marine Trader 34.

He has completed installation of a new inverter and now has started a complete rehab of the forward head. Upcoming projects are a fuel polishing system, engine gasket replacements, rewiring of some of the AC system including replacing an old electrical panel, just to name a few.

Chuck hosts the Repair & Renovate forum at TrawlerCrawler.net where you can ask for his advice about DIY projects on your own boat.
