Hi Liz..oh, so familiar!! I don't know what your girl did, but my Theodore has blown BOTH knees..typical to blow one after the other due to how they compensate..we survived and all is well...BUT I did a lot of research following how to avoid future arthritis, lameness and started Teddy and my 2yo Dane on Mobility ( tablet) that's all natural, elk antler velvet..by Wapiti Labs. Amazing support for tendon,ligament and connective tissue. Neither will ever be w/o it! Teddy will move to Sr. Formula in a yr. When he turns 8 yo. Look it up and check out!! Connie

Hello Everyone,My name is Liz and I have a 20 month old female Newf. A week ago she was playing with my grandson in my home and while "charging" to get a toy got tangled in a purse handle and apparently twisted her knee. She was limping on it so within a few days I took her to the vet who said we should watch it for 10 days and gave me a prescription and instructions on her activity level etc. She started to do much better and I took her outside with me off leash yesterday and of course, as most Newfies will do, she bolted and started running around the yard because she had been on leash for so many days. Well now she will barely put any weight on her leg at all and my vet said to give it a couple of days with confinement and rest and call her Monday to let her know how she's doing. We will decide from there which direction to go in and she will give me referrals if she feels it's necessary.So my question is has anyone in this group ever experienced this or heard of someone who has with their large breed dog and do you have any good information or referrals etc that you can give me. I have pet insurance so I am pretty confident that this will be covered so I am willing to do just about anything. She's a sweet sweet girl and I I'm broken hearted that this whole thing happened and I want the best for her.
