are available and might fit our needs.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

What's the beam on that slip?. Is it expandable?
What price range do you have in mind?
What other vessel experience have you had that you might compare a new vessel
with?

The beam on the slip is 20' and is not expandable.  Was thinking in
the 500,000 or less range for price.  Very little other vessel
experience that compares with a boat the size we are looking for.
Right now we have a 26' boat with a small cuddy.

Ernest,

My family (wife & 2 kids) made the Jump from a 24' cuddy to a 40' cruiser
without any problem, If I could do it all again I would have gone straight
to a 40ish foot powercat instead of the mono hull, I would then have the
chance of a 3rd stateroom to keep the kids separated (don't underestimate
the value of that issue), a larger salon, much better fuel economy etc. etc.
Some of the New Zealand built cats are very suitable for fishing, and there
are more and more of them up here.

Regards,

Mark Scott
