Gators,

FYI, see the note below that was sent to the Masters Swim Team regarding the Y facility hours and pool schedule over the holidays; good information for us as well.  This Saturday, 12/27 you will see a 30 minute swim listed at the start of the Tri Club workout, but based on the fact that the Masters Swim Team is having their annual "Distance Challenge" that morning, we'll stick to bike trainers (7:15am-9am) and running (after bikes)... Maybe we can help the Masters by counting laps during our ride.

Subject: Holiday Pool Schedule and Practice

Hey all,

Merry Christmas!  Hope you all have a great week and enjoy the time with family.  Wanted to make sure everyone knows what is going on the next week and a half so no surprises.  Below is the holiday schedule for the Y and since both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve fall on a Wednesday night, we won't have any practice those nights....besides, we all have better plans, so rest up and be ready for the new year and a tough run of events starting in January.

Christmas Eve
5:00 am – 3:00 pm
Christmas Day
CLOSED
New Year’s Eve
5:00 am – 3:00 pm
New Year’s Day
9:00 am – 3:00 pm

ADDITIONAL SCHEDULE WARNING:
December 31st: Springford High School is practicing 8am-10am using the whole pool.  So if you were hoping to get a swim in, go early 5am-8am or head in between 12pm-3pm

DISTANCE CHALLENGE: SATURDAY DEC 27th 7am- ?

We've done this the last several years and have had "some" fun with it.  Some go the full time and some come late and/or leave early.  The full distance is 10,000 yards and on a 1:30 per 100yd pace it takes 2.5 hours to complete.  I will have lanes set for 1:30, 1:40, and 1:45 pace per 100.  If you plan to start at the beginning, be there when the doors open at 7am and on deck by 7:10.....the clock starts at 7:15am.

For the 1:30 pace, we will swim the following:

20 x 200 on 3:00 (7:15am to 8:15am)

40 x 100 on 1:30 (8:15am to 9:15am)

40 x 50 on :45 (9:15am to 9:45am)

For the 1:40 and 1:45 pace lanes, you can follow this lead or just swim the 100 x 100s.  Pick a leader, set the pace, hold the interval, and don't give up.

At a 1:40 pace, you will hit 5.1 miles in 2.5 hours

At a 1:45 pace, you will hit 4.8 miles in 2.5 hours

If you want to finish out the 10k, you'll need to go an extra half hour to finish at these paces.

Thank you for your participation with the Spring Valley YMCA Masters Swim Team.  Should you wish to unsubscribe from the team distribution list, please respond to svygators@gmail.commailto:svygators@gmail.com with your desire to be removed.

Thanks Don!

Not sure if this will go through to everyone, but if not, please forward.  If anyone is interested in joining Saturday, please do.  The 1:40 and 1:45 pace isn't "too" bad...but it is a long way to go.  Swim what you can if you'd like to give it a try!

Thanks Don!

Not sure if this will go through to everyone, but if not, please forward.
If anyone is interested in joining Saturday, please do. The 1:40 and 1:45
pace isn't "too" bad...but it is a long way to go. Swim what you can if
you'd like to give it a try!

Gators,
FYI, see the note below that was sent to the Masters Swim Team regarding
the Y facility hours and pool schedule over the holidays; good information
for us as well.  This Saturday, 12/27 you will see a 30 minute swim listed
at the start of the Tri Club workout, but based on the fact that the
Masters Swim Team is having their annual "Distance Challenge" that morning,
we'll stick to bike trainers (7:15am-9am) and running (after bikes)...
Maybe we can help the Masters by counting laps during our ride. [image:

and a half so no surprises.  Below is the holiday schedule for the Y and
since both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve fall on a Wednesday night, we
won't have any practice those nights....besides, we all have better plans,
so rest up and be ready for the new year and a tough run of events starting
in January.

We've done this the last several years and have had "some" fun with it.
Some go the full time and some come late and/or leave early.  The full
distance is 10,000 yards and on a 1:30 per 100yd pace it takes 2.5 hours to
complete.  I will have lanes set for 1:30, 1:40, and 1:45 pace per 100.  If
you plan to start at the beginning, be there when the doors open at 7am and
on deck by 7:10.....the clock starts at 7:15am.

For the 1:30 pace, we will swim the following:
20 x 200 on 3:00 (7:15am to 8:15am)
40 x 100 on 1:30 (8:15am to 9:15am)
40 x 50 on :45 (9:15am to 9:45am)

For the 1:40 and 1:45 pace lanes, you can follow this lead or just swim
the 100 x 100s.  Pick a leader, set the pace, hold the interval, and don't
give up.

At a 1:40 pace, you will hit 5.1 miles in 2.5 hours

At a 1:45 pace, you will hit 4.8 miles in 2.5 hours

If you want to finish out the 10k, you'll need to go an extra half hour to
finish at these paces.

Gators,
FYI, see the note below that was sent to the Masters Swim Team regarding the Y facility hours and pool schedule over the holidays; good information for us as well. <Emoticon1.gif>

Should you wish to unsubscribe from the team distribution list, please respond to svygators@gmail.com with your desire to be removed.

I was there in the Adult fitness lane. You all were way too fast! But I did the 100x100 :). Thanks for having me! Gators,
FYI, see the note below that was sent to the Masters Swim Team regarding
the Y facility hours and pool schedule over the holidays; good information
for us as well.
Maybe we can help the Masters by counting laps during our
ride. <Emoticon1.gif>

Hey all,

Merry Christmas!  Hope you all have a great week and enjoy the time with
family.  Wanted to make sure everyone knows what is going on the next week
and a half so no surprises.  Below is the holiday schedule for the Y and
since both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve fall on a Wednesday night, we
won't have any practice those nights....besides, we all have better plans,
so rest up and be ready for the new year and a tough run of events starting
in January.

Christmas Eve
5:00 am – 3:00 pm
Christmas Day
CLOSED
New Year’s Eve
5:00 am – 3:00 pm
New Year’s Day
9:00 am – 3:00 pm

ADDITIONAL SCHEDULE WARNING:
December 31st: Springford High School is practicing 8am-10am using the
whole pool.  So if you were hoping to get a swim in, go early 5am-8am or
head in between 12pm-3pm

DISTANCE CHALLENGE: SATURDAY DEC 27th 7am- ?
We've done this the last several years and have had "some" fun with it.
Some go the full time and some come late and/or leave early.  The full
distance is 10,000 yards and on a 1:30 per 100yd pace it takes 2.5 hours to

If you want to finish out the 10k, you'll need to go an extra half hour
to finish at these paces.

Thank you for your participation with the Spring Valley YMCA Masters
Swim Team.  Should you wish to unsubscribe from the team distribution
list, please respond to svygators@gmail.com with your desire to be
removed.
