Hi Everybody, I'm new to the list and very happy to see the level of knowledge here. I will jump straigh into a couple of questions: 1) Short term, I'm looking into purchasing a powerboat, perferable a power catamaran, for use for some months in the Caribbean and then maybe take with me to Europe. On top of my list is the Venturer 38, which seems to have the combination of looks, performance, accomodation and price that I'm looking for, and with reasonable availability of used models in the US, on yachtworld there's currently listed a 1999 Sport asking USD 239K, located on the east coast. Anybody with knowledge or information about that model ? Any other ideas around USD 250K for a newer used one in that size, beside the Maryland 37 that don't seems to be that great ? 2) Long term I would like to end up with a larger displacement power catamaran, maybe even ocean going. I have done a LOT of studying and have one idea I've been thinking about: Would it be possible to make a power catamaran with asymmetric displacement hulls, like a single displacement hull cut in two ? The idea is to significantly improve the high speed performance when the hulls are closer to each other.... Any issues, beside cost or manufacturing ? It seems to work great for planning catamarans, but I could imagine an issue with water pressure at speed trying to bend the wingdeck.... 3) Side question, I'm planning in October to go to either the Annapolis Powerboat show or the Fort Lauderdale boat show, any recommendation to which one would be the best, both from a power catamaran and general powerboat point of view ?
