First, my apologies for the previously sent blank email.
Second, July's Greendrinks event will be on Thursday, July 3rd at 6 PM at the Hub, and it will be hosted by Artisan Electric on the topic of community solar development. Grassroots community-wide bulk purchase solar programs began in Portland and have spread all over the country. The key elements of a successful program is the ability to engage local community leaders, successfully run educational workshops, and bring the price of solar down through economies of scale. Artisan has successfully participated in several Solarize Seattle programs, and is now asking the question: why has the community model not caught on in Tacoma?
For those of you unfamiliar with Green Drinks, every month people engaged in the environmental field meet up at informal sessions known as Green Drinks. We have a lively mixture of people from NGOs, academia, government and business. Help us spread the word by inviting a friend, or invite them through Facebook.
