Tacoma Refugee Choir is honored to be partnering with the Tacoma-Pierce
County Health Department in creating three new songs encouraging the
community to follow public health guidelines. The first song, “We Will
Overcome (Tutashinda)” is being released today, and we’re so excited to
share the lyric video with you!

Please share this video widely to help our community stay safe during the
Thanksgiving holiday.
Written by Providence Kamana from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, “We
Will Overcome (Tutashinda)” features five languages and draws on themes of
hope and perseverance in the face of this ongoing public health crisis.
Over the coming month, we will also share a fully animated music video for
“We Will Overcome (Tutashinda),” a new Spanish song, “La Salud Collectiva,”
and “Put It On (Ufimata),” featuring members of the Pacific Islander
community. Stay tuned for each of these important releases.
Thanks for your help and stay safe!
