Good afternoon:
I have a couple of federal funding updates:
- Here is a link to the Memorandum in support of the Motion for a PI in Appalachian Voices v. EPA (the new class action lawsuit filed regarding EPA grant terminations). https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.dcd.281951/gov.uscourts.dcd.281951.29.1.pdf. The plaintiffs argue the court may provisionally certify the proposed class for the purposes of granting the PI.
- I am also attaching the motion to certify the class in Appalachian Voices v. EPA.
- Here is a link to a memorandum in support of the defendant's motion for a protective order and to stay discovery pending the resolution of the motion to dismiss in Chicago Women in Trades v. Trump. https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/69675603/106/chicago-women-in-trades-v-trump/. This case had to do with the DEI executive orders and false claims act certifications. There was a nationwide injunction issued as to the false claims act certification which I suspect will be modified in light of the Supreme Court's decision in Casa v. Trump from Friday. Interestingly, the memo on discovery cites to the Casa decision but it doesn't look like they have sought to modify the injunction yet. I will keep an eye on that.
Thanks,
Amanda
