Richard,
I have three Furuno radars but have never experienced that problem.
Be advised that Furuno offers excellent tech support by phone, something
I've taken advantage of several times because my Nordhavn carries a lot of
Furuno gear. Try calling the Furuno tech support line at 360-834-9300.
Or you can work through tech support online at the URL below, but that's
not nearly as satisfying as talking to a real, live Furuno expert.

No connection with Furuno other than as a highly satisfied longtime Furuno
customer.

I turned on my furuno radar today after having the boat sit on the hard for
the past 9 months. The antenna rotates part way around then stops, waits a
few seconds and then rotates part way round again. This repeats. Has anyone
had a similar problem? During the rotation segment there is a correct echo
pattern displayed.
I recall Furuno had a function called Watchman that intermittently turned
on and off for a preset period of time to see if anything entered the guard
zone but would not run continuously. Maybe it turned on in this setting?
