Hi Georgs,

The  last 3 months went fast; 6 weeks having been spent in Cape Town
where I had numerous projects done including the installation of the
Isuzu engine which we carried down from Malaysia. It was quite a job
installing it in  the engine room, fabricating  a new dry exhaust
system, etc. but we tested it last week and the engine, at 1800rpm
turns the shaft at 250 rpm which should give an honest 5 knots in a
moderate seaway. The hydraulic motor chain drives the  main shaft &
would require half an hour or less to connect. I also installed an
oil cooler on the Twin Disc gearbox to cool the gear oil. This system
will probably (hopefully) never be used but it's there. We now have 3
auxillary engines and the 855 Cummins main engine in the engine room
but there's still room to walk around the main engine and access
everything. I will take on  16,000 litres of duty-free fuel just as
we depart as a clearance is needed to get the lower price. Next stops
will be Walvis Bay, St. Helena & Rio enroute to Venezuela. I have a
couple of new crew members including the cook and we're very much
looking forward to getting underway again.

Best regards,
