Visitors:
Thanks so much to Matt and Catherine (NPH) for doing a count for us today
and glad they got some birds on what is typically a not so great wind
direction at this site. Only visitors listed were Tim and another Tim J.
Weather:
Temps from 20C to 24C. Winds WSW for the count period.
Raptor Observations:
A decent flight today with a total of 149 raptors tallied. Most were
Sharpies and of course Am. Kestrels. There were a few Bald Eagles observed
but they were likely local birds except for a single Sub-adult looking bird
which I've included in the count. This is always our problem at this point
in the season when we see adults and young birds cruising back and forth
along the cliff all day.
Non-raptor Observations:
Several flocks of Am. Goldfinch (120), Yellow-rump and Blackpoll warblers,
Gray Catbird, E. Towhee, quite a few RT Hummingbirds(8), N. Rough-winged
Swallow, Common Nighthawk and hundreds of Blue Jays(950).
