Don't count on getting more precise or unbiased information at boat shows.  Often sales people at boat shows are just salesmen.  They are selling a product--no matter how expensive.

Years ago I had good dealings with an excellent yacht salesman.  One day he was gone--and I asked why?  He could make more money by selling rolls of commercial news print--so asked what he had done before yacht sales--he had sold parts for Lawn mowers!

I would find clients of a yard who have owned a boat for several years and ask them how the boat has held up.  On the other hand, many folks who have shelled out a couple of million bucks may not always give a totally objective opinion.
