Date/time:                  Mar 25,  2006 12:00 local
Position at noon:        14002' S & 127019.3' E
02:50 to noon:            149.7  nm
Avg. speed:                6.0  kts
Sea state & wx:          W  kts,  seas W  feet, lots rain
Crew                          Ben, Brad & Kevin
Days:                          At falls
Goal:                          Lounge at the falls and then go to Darwin

Remarks:

Smooth seas, then wind got up to 25 kts before
rain started at 09:00 in Koolama Bay.  Enter
King George River at 10:45, tricky entry with
changing sand bars but safe enough on a rising
tide.  Careful all the way up and got into too
shallow a couple times but no touching.  8 miles
up to falls in the most spectacular canyon we
have seen yet and then the falls, now at high
water are exceptional.  Also several smaller
falls on the way up.  Cruising guide says canyon
and falls are 100 meters.  Anchor below falls,
back about 400 meters  in 27 feet.  This is
fantastic country.

Put our feet up and wait for the rain to stop.

Jim Farrell arrived in Darwin and trying to sort
out cruising permits for points north and
moorage.  They said marinas all full because this
is cyclone season but he found us a spot with the
fishing boats which we like anyway.
