We're upgrading to a bigger dinghy, and we've decided to replace the old PowerWinch winch on our crane davit (just the winch, not the davit!). The new dink weighs just under 500 lbs. Does anyone have a recommendation or preference for a winch that will easily manage the dink weight, has a remote cable - preferably 110v? Thanks much... Robin, I have a StrongArm Winch 110v that works great. When we bought our boat 5 years ago it had the same winch but it was kind of rusty so I bought a new one plus the remote and kept the original as a spare. We have a 13' RIB with a 25hp Yamaha which I estimate is around 550 lbs. Never had a problem. I got mine thru Northern Tool.
