Looking at a 1992 GB46 that may need new teak decks. Any ideas on pricing for this and recommendation for supplier in Florida?

I just asked that very question of a yard manager in Solomons, Md, he is removing teak decks on a 42 GB and replacing with non-skid; $35,000. Not mine fortunately.

Walt,
Most boats that have teak deck problems don't get them relaced, which would
be very expensive. High-quality teak decking is priced like silver, and it
takes a highly skilled carpenter (which I'm not) to make the job look good.
Instead, the old teak can be removed, screw holes filled with thickened
epoxy, and a non-skid surface (sometimes over a new layer of fiberglass) can
be applied to the deck. Not too difficult, unless the deck's balsa or
plywood core has been compromised by leakage and rot. Expect a much bigger
repair bill if some core must be replaced.
My neighbor here in Turkey Creek is nearly finished performing this
operation on his 46' GB, which I have been watching closely. He was
pleasantly surprised to find that the decks were not cored with balsa or
plywood, but with some kind of bituminous fiberboard. Also, his deck's top
layer of fiberglass over the fiberboard was so thick (around 1/2") that the
teak decking screws didn't penetrate. This means that even if the teak has
disintegrated enough to allow water into the screw holes, no water makes it
into the core.
Before giving an informed estimate, I'd have to see the boat to make sure
that the deck is constructed the same way as my neighbor's early-80's GB46.
But if so, I'd estimate 160 hours labor and $2000 in materials, or $10,800
done at my dock. Add 10% for a fixed-price bid. It would take 6 weeks in
the fall or winter when good weather is the norm, longer if done in the
summer.
