The City of Auburn and the Auburn Arts Commission are pleased to present the work of the Kate Dougherty and Julia Szten at the City Hall Gallery, on view April 9th - May 22nd, 2019.
Artist Kate Dougherty creates beautiful encaustic artworks that reflect her interests in "architecture and the environment, developing a relationship between structure, nature and culture as a universal landscape." Julia Szten will be featuring figurative clay sculptures, the artist often drawing her inspiration from "Japanese woodblock prints, the patterned polychrome pottery of the Southwest and the calligraphic line and interlocking shapes of the Pacific Northwest tribes as well as Art Nouveau."
