Functionality Working Group: Object Entry Wireframe and Workflow Critique

CollectionSpace Functionality Working Group Members:

Over the past few months, the CollectionSpace design team has been
working on our interpretation and workflow analysis of the intake
process. The results are a set of wireframes, based on the "Object
Entry" procedure as found in SPECTRUM (the museum documentation
standard), a copy of which is attached.

We would like your input on our work so far.

The link below will lead you to a web form
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=aXQZYAWbasyjQaHaehNkig_3d_3d ,
where there's space to critique the wireframes.  Please note that there
are two pages to the form, with one wireframe for each page. A narrative
description of the wireframes will guide you along, but please don't
take these as final versions! This is our first stab at this procedure,
and we need your input to improve it. Please feel free to comment on
what we've done. If your workflow is different, please tell us about it!
We want to ensure that what we design and develop reflects the variety
of intake and entry procedures and information currently in use
throughout the museum community.

A note: throughout the wireframes, we use the word "object" as shorthand
for the multitude of artifacts, objects, digital media files, specimens
and so on that could enter an institution. It can be one thing, many
things, one thing that could later be divided into many things, a thing
with no "physical" presence, etc.

Thanks so much for your help, and please let me know if you have any
questions. Feel free to forward this email to anyone you think might be
interested in contributing to the project, and to learn more about the
work of the CollectionSpace UX design team, please visit the project

Best regards,

Megan
