View all threadsHi all,
Following up on a message Aron sent to the work list a few days ago.
In order to maintain consistency throughout our documentation I've
made it so that once a CollectionSpace version is released the current
DOC wiki space, the documentation space current to the newest version,
is set to read-only to the wider public and project team. The
UNRELEASED documentation space, that scratch space for ongoing
development, will remain free for edit for logged in users.
Certainly the older, static, read-only documentation needs to be
updated, corrected or spruced up from time to time and a few of us on
the project team are designated moderators for this task. Please ask
myself, Aron or Carly for assistance in updating any read-only pages
and we'll be happy to assist. Leave a note on the IRC channel, on a
list or in email and we'll make sure your helpful and much appreciated
documentation updates are updated where fit.
Thanks,
It's possible to see a running log of documentation updated by going
to the (hidden) UNRELEASED/Home page on the wiki space.

Hi,
I've noticed a number of changes made recently to documents on the
DOC wiki, below. That's very cool ... and ...
This is just an FYI that, if you'd like these changes to propagate
to v2.1 and beyond - and you haven't already done so - you'll also
want to make them to the same pages on the UNRELEASED wiki:
http://wiki.collectionspace.org/display/UNRELEASED/home
That wiki - the UNRELEASED wiki - is our scratch space for working
on current documentation. At the end of v2.1, the UNRELEASED wiki's
contents will effectively be cloned to become the v2.1 release of the
DOC wiki, and then will be our scratch space for working on v2.2 docs
... and so on.
(If you edit on the DOC wiki, you're effectively editing static docs
pertaining to the last released version of CollectionSpace; currently,
the v2.0 docs. If you wish, you can also click on an older release in
the left sidebar, then you can edit that release's static docs, as
well.)
If you like, I can make the corresponding updates you made to the
DOC wiki, to the UNRELEASED wiki for you; just let me know. (We all
massively appreciate your contributions to these docs, and would
like to make sure they're carried forward in future doc revisions!)
