2012 Earth Day Art Contest
The EnviroChallenger educators have taught Tacoma students about storm water, wastewater, garbage and recycling and how their daily activities can affect the quality of the earth's ecosystem. Learning the 5 Rs, how to prevent water pollution and what to recycle has equipped them to be a better environmental steward, able to help Tacoma be a healthier and happier place to live.

Now, we want them to show us what they've learned by creating a poster illustrating how they use these lessons at home.
Contest guidelines:

  • The poster contest is open to Tacoma students in kindergarten through 8th grade.

  • Artwork should be no larger than 11"x14" and can be done in any medium, including ink, crayon, colored pencil, marker or computer design; please, no glitter.

  • Each entry should have its own entry form attached.

  • All entries should be postmarked by March 30.

Winners will be announced on Earth Day and prizes include tickets to the Tacoma Rainiers, Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium and cool books about the environment. To participate, download an entry form from www.cityoftacoma.org/envirokidshttp://www.cityoftacoma.org/envirokids, or for more information or to have an entry form mailed to you, email envirokids@cityoftacoma.orgmailto:envirokids@cityoftacoma.org or call 573-2506.
