Thu, Jul 20, 2006 1:39 AM

Date/time:                  July 19, 2006, 12:00 local (z-9)
Position at Reid Inlet:      57D03.515'N 135021.232'W
Noon                        nm,  km.
Avg. speed:                  kts  kph
Course bearing:              None given
Sea state:
Wx:              wind S, 5 to 10 kts (10to 20km), cloudy today
Water temp:                  13.0D C
Crew:                        Ben, Brad & Kevin
Remarks:
Peril Strait is a must for anyone within reach; however, there is so much of
this West Coast that is spectacular.
Sitka is another really great harbor, but much busier than anything since
Japan.  Without criticizing Sitka, which would be totally unfair; I will say
it is a bit too touristy for us, but still a great place for two-days.
We hope to leave tomorrow.

If you want less touristy than Sitka, don't go to Juneau or Ketchikan.
Instead try Wrangell or Petersburg.  Or Meyer's Chuck, just north of
Ketchikan.  Or Tenakee springs, on the inside of Chicagov, a bit of a
backtrack however.
