If we could avoid moving file attachments over the list, I would appreciate
it. No prudent web navigator opens unsolicited attachments, so, even if
benign, they are wasted on anyone other than the intended recipient. I
delete them unopened, but nevertheless, attachments choke my low-speed
internet connection.

All hands--
The response to my earlier survey and the recent posting has been
nearly unanimous: Attachments should not be allowed on Power
Catamaran List. Thus, effective immediately, they will be blocked.
The reason? Attachments can be awfully slow to download if you do not
have broadband access to the Net. Attachments are the chief way
viruses and other nasties are spread around. Not every single person
on the List is interested in seeing every attachment. There may be
copyright issues involved.
The solution? If you have an attachment you want to share, post a
message that it's available from you by email. Then, if someone is
interested, they can contact you directly to request the attachment.
If you have an attachment that many Listees will likely want to see,
send it to me and I will post it to the library section of
PowerCatamaranWorld.com. Do not send me copyrighted material as I
will not post it.
