I agree.  Our dogs are really frightened and it is difficult to enjoy

Dogs are frightened by the noises and it can hurt their eardrums.  In
the days leading up to and following the 4th, I know some of you think
it is great fun to create loud noises far into the night but try to
remember that your neighbors who are NOT exploding fireworks probably
are NOT exploding fireworks because they don't want to listen to the
explosions ... especially after about 10:00pm at the latest.  Sure, on
the 4th, we expect people will celebrate right up until midnight but
then it is no longer the 4th an we would like to be able to calm our
dogs down and get some sleep ourselves.

I try to be tolerant because I know that, as a kind (especially in N.
Louisiana), I liked to shoot bottle rockets and set of the occasional
"BlackCat".  However, I wasn't allowed to do so after 9:30pm or before
9:00am.  My parents expected me to respect my neighbors and let them get
to bed at a reasonable time without being disturbed by my activities. 
I now have a greater appreciation for how I was brought up.

I'm not asking for total silence, hey, I kind of like the rockets and
especially the "aerial bursts" toward sunset.  All I'm asking is for
y'all to be reasonable before and after the 4th, keeping your fireworks
before, at the latest, 10:00pm and then, ON the 4th, be a bit
reasonable and shut them down at midnight.  It'll make everyone's nights
more pleasant, especially for dogs.

I agree most dogs are frightened including my 3, But I am a proud Patriotic American and will celebrate with everyone.
I take my pets and put them in the laundry room, at the height of the fireworks I  close the door and turn on the dryer. They don’t hear much and has thus far worked well.

that pre- and post-4th of July, celebrations end at a reasonable hour
of, say 10:00pm/22:00 and the celebrations end on the 4th when it

the 4th, we expect people will celebrate right up until midnight but
then it is no longer the 4th an we would like to be able to calm our
dogs down and get some sleep ourselves.

I try to be tolerant because I know that, as a kind (especially in N.
Louisiana), I liked to shoot bottle rockets and set of the occasional
"BlackCat".  However, I wasn't allowed to do so after 9:30pm or before
9:00am.  My parents expected me to respect my neighbors and let them get
to bed at a reasonable time without being disturbed by my activities.
I now have a greater appreciation for how I was brought up.

I'm not asking for total silence, hey, I kind of like the rockets and
especially the "aerial bursts" toward sunset.  All I'm asking is for
y'all to be reasonable before and after the 4th, keeping your fireworks
before, at the latest, 10:00pm and then, ON the 4th, be a bit
reasonable and shut them down at midnight.  It'll make everyone's nights
more pleasant, especially for dogs.
