Just so you know, the issue of street lights has been discussed in previous years. There are many who enjoy the night sky and moved to LR with that in mind. The compromise was the light at the park to help children waiting for the bus.
There are many ways to increase safety on our streets. Most need the cooperation of residents, for example watching speed, parked cars, reflective clothing.
The position that those of us who do not have children do not care about the safety of the park is offensive. We do care about all who reside in LR. This includes those who use the park. We enjoy interacting with community members, including children. We want our park to be beautiful and useful as much as parents do. Many have grandchildren who enjoy the park. There are improvements all could enjoy for example, a walking path along with the suggested improvements.
Certainly the input from all is welcomed here and this community has always been inclusive, whether new or longstanding residents.
Respectively,
Julia Moore

All;
I recently received a message and realized my prior email contained a typo. Our streets have adequate signage. I believe that we need street lights. Without sidewalks, it can be a bit scary walking at dusk or at night. You never know if a car can see you on the side of the road.
