Ortega River Anchoring

There's been a concerted effort for years to eliminate anchoring in the
Ortega River. First step was to place channel markers in the first section
between the bridges, making the channel 4 times wider than it needs to be,
particularly since there is no commercial traffic. Now they want to
eliminate anchoring beyond the railroad bridge, an area that only has a
couple of marinas/boatyards and one dry storage, the rest residential.
There is plenty of room in this area to anchor, but apparently there are
folks there who don't want anchoring in their backyard and apparently have
to pull to make it happen. I don't know if it is the residential folks or
the marinas, maybe both. I'd like to know when the state is going to say
enough is enough?

When the re-election contributions stop.
Anyone who believes this anchoring crap is for the benefit of anything
other than moneyed waterfront folk is deluded.
If the legislators cared about the environment, they'd clamp down on
municipal treatment plants and their industrial benefactors.
It's pay to play in-your-face bold and unashamed.
Disgusting.
Politicians.
