The Problem:
In the 2013 Sustainability Survey, 26% of Pierce County employees said they have a personal printer at their work desk.
Why Personal Printers are Unsustainable:
Personal printers cost the County a lot of money - primarily because of the expensive printer cartridges. Many of these printers can emit unhealthy emissions at your desk and they promote a sedentary work day. Getting rid of your personal printer will make you healthier, limit waste and save money.
The Challenge:
Every employee who gets rid of their personal printer will be entered in a raffle in early May. County leadership (out of their own pockets) have agreed to provide a $100 gift certificate to El Gaucho and other prizes to the raffle winners of the personal printer challenge. To be eligible you must work with your IT contact and have your printer removed by April 30th. Once you have removed your printer send an emailmailto:rdicks@co.pierce.wa.us?subject=I%20got%20rid%20of%20my%20personal%20printer to be entered in the raffle. If you have already removed your personal printer in 2014 (Executive McCarthy did) please send an emailmailto:rdicks@co.pierce.wa.us?subject=I%20got%20rid%20of%20my%20personal%20printer and you will be entered in the contest as well. Winners will be announced in the May newsletter
