The Olympia Film Society is proud to announce director Arwen Curry’s Worlds
of Ursula K. Le Guin
at the *Capitol Theater *on March 10, 17, and 23
2019. The film is sponsored by local bookstore Browsers Bookshop, who
will be having a book sale at the theater on March 23 at 3:30pm,
exclusively selling Le Guin’s work.

Synopsis: Decades before Hogwarts, Ursula K. Le Guin invited young
readers to wizard school in her classic Earthsea fantasy series, and
dazzled the science fiction world with masterworks like The Left Hand of
Darkness and The Dispossessed. Worlds of Ursula K. Le Guin tells the
groundbreaking author’s story in her own words, sprinkled with stunning
animation and commentary from literary luminaries like Margaret Atwood,
Neil Gaiman, David Mitchell, and Michael Chabon. Produced with Le Guin’s
participation over 10 years, the film is a breathtaking journey through the
late writer’s career and her worlds, both real and fantastic.

The Capitol Theater has served as an artistic hub for the arts in Olympia
since its beginnings as a vaudeville stage in 1924. The theater serves as a
space where the Olympia community gathers in order to connect, empower, and
support the arts.
