I would not trust that broker. But there is no reason not to go after the boat if you want it...Continue to do your homework...The majority of brokers are useless....few know much about the boats they represent... What make transmission are you looking at? My Allision transmission (Detroit Diesel) oil and filters are supposed to be changed every 500 hours according to my mechanic. If the oil doesn't pass analysis muster, regardless of hours, get an estimate from a reputable marine rebuilder and plan on negotiating a price reduction...and getting the transmission reb uilt...
