receding by marsh; low tide by LIS. 86F, light breeze, sunny. Our
building will be closed to the public Monday -Friday because our summer
camp program has begun. Grounds will be open.
A brief view of the marsh: 5 Mute swans-including 3 or 4 cygnets, Purple
martins frequenting the gourds, Mourning doves, Common Grackles, 4
Oystercatchers on mudflat in marsh and our Ospreys with 3 chicks on the
nest.
A short walk by the lagoon and sandbar:
1 Yellow crowned night heron, 1 Great egret, 1 Snowy egret, Oystercatchers
flew over with 2 nesting,2 American Crows flew over, about 8 Piping
plovers and 3 chicks, 4 least Terns , and very vocal Laughing gulls.
A horseshoe crab was excavating and creating a nest and laying eggs.
