The Cackling Geese were together in the Lighthouse Pond on Gibraltar Point yesterday afternoon. The pond is just north of the Lighthouse.
As we watched the Geese we heard some American Crows and when we turned to look for them they came over the lighthouse and headed over the Lighthouse Pond and to our surprise there was a little Fish Crow chasing and harassing them (it’s usually the other way around). The America Crows kept going over the Sanctuary and the Fish Crow turned back over the lighthouse.
The last time we saw the Fish Crow as we walked past 20 minutes or so later on, was it standing on some ice in the Trout Pond eating a fish, of course, what else would it eat ? :>)).
Spring migration is picking up some with especially Song Sparrows, Grackles, Robins and Red-wings.
Some other migrants, etc. seen by all 3 of us today and yesterday by Bob & Jenny were Purple Finch, Woodcock, Winter Wren, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Ravens, Killdeer and Cormorants
Lots more to come in the next weeks before the May migration starts.
Sorry for the late posting but it was on my end not birdnews or Ontbirds, strictly my error.
