Subject: TWL: 6V Battery Questions
I am replacing my 9+ year old 8d gell batteries with 6V golf cart
batteries.
I can get 12 GCs in the batery box space of four 8ds, thus, increasing my
capacity by over 50% to 1470 ah. Two questions:
A. Does anyone have experience with Dyno batteries out of Seattle?
www.dynobattery.com They are family owned, have been in business there
since 1933 and have a good reputation locally. They do not advertise and
sell only from the factory so their prices are lower. Eg. Trojan
T-145 (244
ah) are $98.50 in Portland. Dyno's 245 ah are $68.50 plus $3.50 to
customize the terminals, if desired. Here are the specs on the Dyno: 245
ah, 19 plates/cell, 125 min reserve, 0.105" plate thickness.
B. Will a pair of golf cart batteries, estimated 560 CCA, serve well as a
starting bank for my 135 Leyman?
Thanks, in advance.

I like Dyno battereies for all of the reasons you suggest. Fisheries Supply
in Seattle carries them for only a couple of dollars more than the factory
sells them for. I have bought from both depending solely on convenience.
