Good morning,
On Thursday, May 23rd Visual Arts at Green River College will once again be hosting 80 upper level high school art students from Auburn schools in an event we call Portfolio Day. Students will come to campus to experience a college-level classroom, demonstrations and talks by artists and will participate in art making. The main attraction of course, is a portfolio review! These students began work on their portfolios back in September in preparation for this very important opportunity. They bring their work to campus to present it to art educators and arts professionals in the field for feedback and advice about their work but also their trajectory from high school to the working world. As an arts professional or arts educator, your feedback and advice is exceptionally welcome and well received. The event is only a couple of hours, but can be very rewarding for all those involved. Plus, come a little early for a light reception and an opportunity to catch up with others in the arts community before the interviews begin.
We are in need of additional interviewers for Portfolio Day and would appreciate your time and/or references to other colleagues you know that might be interested in participating. Feel free to forward on this invitation. If you are able to attend, please RSVP to me.
10:15am we will gather for a light reception and instructions in Salish Hall
11am - 12:10pm First set of interviews
12:20pm-1:30pm Second set of interviews
Thank you!
