Greetings Colleagues,
Please see the message below from Loretta Parham, Interim Executive Director, HBCU Library Alliance.
LaTasha
Good afternoon:
With this message, I ask you to join me in extending farewell to Shaneé Y. Willis, HBCU Library Alliance Program Manager. Shaneé began her employment with the HBCU Library Alliance in July of 2023. Since that time, she has performed with excellence in support of numerous initiatives that helped to extend the reach and impact of HBCU libraries and archives. As the Interim Executive Director, I greatly appreciate the support of operations of Ms. Willis over the last few months. Her passion for the HBCU Library Alliance is without doubt.
Shaneé asked that I share the following statement with the membership.
"As I transition from the HBCU Library Alliance to CLIR, I’m excited to build on our shared commitment to preserving and amplifying HBCU collections through initiatives like the 2024 CLIR HBCU Library Alliance Subgrant program and the Material Memory podcast. I have greatly enjoyed working with the Alliance’s membership, whose dedication and collaboration have been a constant source of inspiration. This new chapter offers meaningful opportunities to continue advocating for and strengthening the partnership between both organizations."
Shaneé’s last day with the HBCU Library Alliance is August 27, 2025. We wish her well and anticipate an even stronger partnership between CLIR and the HBCULA.
I want to remind the membership that the HBCULA is in transition and in good shape.
Whenever an organization transitions from one point on its life cycle to another, challenges will appear. Clearly, we are all experiencing challenges in one or more ways these days; however, it is how we maneuver during these times that is critical. With the support of our Board of Directors and our Executive Assistant, LaTasha Denard, I wish to assure all that this period of change continues to be managed very well.
The Executive Director recruitment process is nearly complete, at which time recruitment for the position of Program Manager will commence. Funded programs and project operations continue as planned.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to me or to any member of our Board of Directors if you have any questions or suggestions.
Have a great start to the fall term, and your support of student success. Thank you!
