With great apologies for the repeated e-mails clogging your inboxes - allow me to send this FINAL message with the corrected date:
Dickman Mill Headsaw Project
Monday, August 9 - 7pm
Tacoma Historical Society Museum - 406 Tacoma Avenue South
Please join us at the Tacoma Historical Society Museum for our August meeting, where the featured speaker will be Claire Keller-Scholz.
Metro Parks Tacoma historian and Planning and Asset Management Administrator Claire Keller-Scholz will be speaking on the recent Dickman Mill Park project, sharing the history of the site and the process through which the Tacoma Landmark head saw has at long last been restored to its original waterfront location. She will discuss the significance of the head saw to lumber history in Tacoma, and walk us through the stages of park development as the mill site was transformed from burned out rubble to a welcoming natural shoreline habitat and recreation space over the past thirty years.
With thanks to Tacoma Creates for support of our public programs.
Thank you,
Kim
