Tacoma Gallery http://www.tacomagallery.com is hosting a soft-opening of
our 2nd Saturday Life Drawing at Tacoma Art Museum
http://www.tacomaartmuseum.org! These sessions will continue into the
future on every second Saturday (with a few calendar changes to Sunday to
accommodate the museum's busy programming schedule). Each class can be
taken a la carte, but will follow a monthly sequence starting at the basics
and working towards proportion, anatomy, figure expression, and figure
painting, for a progressive curriculum.

*Saturday, July 13, 2019. 1:00-4:00 PM class and 2:00-4:00 PM Drop-in. *

Ages 16-Adult. All participants must agree to respect the model and no
photography (cell phones) will be allowed.

The class begins at 1:00 PM and is one hour of instruction, followed by two
hours of supervised drawing. The class is $35 but arrive early because that
includes museum admission for the student ($18 value).  This Saturday's
class will focus on gesture and volumetric drawing.

Drop-in artists (no instruction and no museum admission, self-guided
drawing only) begins at 2:00 PM and runs until 4:00 PM. Drop-ins are $10.

This Saturday's session will take place in the smaller TAM classroom, on
the second floor. Check in at the front desk. There will be a festival
happening as well, so we will need to be mindful of entry and exit from the
studio space, to protect the model's privacy. We may need to stagger
entry/exit for drop-in between poses. Please be patient.

Our model this week is Shannon Kringen. Please bring your own materials
and  drawing boards, otherwise we will have use of TAM's adjustable height
tables. Charcoal and vine charcoal/conte crayon are recommended, as are
kneaded erasers, newsprint and quality drawing paper. Be advised, only
pencil is allowed inside the museum galleries, should you want to draw from
the exhibitions before the class.
