Good Morning Gators!!! 🐊🐊

THIS MONTH IN TRI CLUB... MARCH 2020!

All systems go as we head into March!  The attendance at club workouts has been fantastic and your fitness definitely showed as we had close to 70 participants, which is about 50% of our membership, participate in Gatorthon!  There's no slowing us down now as we keep this train rolling into March!

Lots happening this month as we begin to at least think about (and maybe actually make) the transition from indoor workouts to outdoor workouts!  Daylight Savings Time, which happens the first full weekend, will help as we have our first "after 7pm" sunset time on Sunday, March 8 and on Monday, March 16 we celebrate our first "more daylight than darkness" day of the year... and that will last for the next 6 months!  In addition to all of this happiness caused by Mother Nature, we'll also be running our annual "one day a year" Infinit club sale on March 18 and having a formation meeting for our new High Performance Team on March 4!  Plus we have a signature club event... the Tri for the Y indoor triathlon on March 22 and a club event... the Love Run on March 29... and the Gator Fitness Challenge concludes at the end of the month!

Here's the complete rundown of this month's special events and workout calendar...

Special Events:

•    All Month: Gator Fitness Challenge: The winter edition continues for the entire month and will run until Sunday, March 29!  If you are not already participating and would like to be added to the roster, please post a comment.  As of the time of this post we have over 40 Gators participating and we'll welcome anyone who would like to join!

•    Wednesday, March 4, 7pm: High Performance Team introductory meeting.  This first meeting will be an opportunity to gauge interest level and discuss what the team is and determine how it will work.  See "Event" for more information... https://www.facebook.com/events/487747585208830/

•    Sunday, March 8, 8am: Swim/Bike Trainer Workout.  We're continuing our series of "once a month" swim/bike workouts with this one being a bit extra challenging as it takes place the morning after we transition to Daylight Savings Time... Don't be late!

•    Monday, March 16: Quarterly Coaches and Officers Meetings... We'll have our first quarterly meetings of 2019... We welcome your input, so let us know if there is anything on your mind that you'd like us to include in our meeting agendas.

•    Wednesday, March 18, 24 hours: Annual Infinit one day club sale!  This is your best opportunity all year for substantial savings on Infinit's array of nutrition products including custom formulas!  See "Event" for more details... https://www.facebook.com/events/602674437212459/

•    Sunday, March 22: SIGNATURE CLUB EVENT: Tri for the Y Indoor Triathlon!  Join us for this annual triathlon that we offer right at our local Spring Valley YMCA!  It's a very family friendly event and practically all that you need is a swimsuit and sneakers!  It's a great opportunity for first time triathletes as well as veterans!  See "Event" for more info... https://www.facebook.com/events/776090032897969/

•    Sunday, March 29: CLUB EVENT: The Love Run (Philadelphia).  At last count we had over a dozen Gators planning to participate in either the 7.6k run or the Half Marathon!  Registration is still open if you'd like to join in or come out to support the Gators and thousands of other runners!

The workout calendar looks like this...

•    Mondays or Wednesdays, 6pm-7:30pm: Coached run workouts... Get details on the location (typically the Spring Valley YMCA through the winter, but moving outdoors as we get into warmer weather) and workout specifics from Karen Dunn's weekly event posts.

•    Mondays, 8:30pm-9:30pm: Coached swim workouts

•    Tuesdays:

◦    10am-11am: Coached swim workouts

◦    7:15pm: Coached spin/strength/core/flexibility workouts

•    Wednesdays, 8:30pm-9:30pm: Coached swim workouts

•    Thursdays:

◦    10am-11am: Coached swim workouts

◦    Evening workouts... As often as possible, we're planning to offer coached spin workouts at the Spring Valley YMCA.  Stay tuned for event posts announcing each!

•    Saturdays, 7:30am: Themed cycling trainer workouts with an optional short "on your own" run immediately following.  Watch for weekly event posts!  Note: Per message above, the trainer workout for the first weekend in March will take place on Sunday instead of Saturday.

•    Sundays, 8am-9am: Uncoached group swim workouts
