Georgs:
I followed the Dashews' FPB construction saga closely. Being influenced by
Malcolm Tennant's designs, I asked the Dashews why they had not chosen a
catamaran design, rather than go to the lengths they did with stabilizers, fins,
flopper-stoppers, etc. They wrote me that the considered a catamaran, but
discarded the idea due to "stability questions".
Seems to me an 83' catamaran with 5'-6' wide hulls and a beam of 20'-30'
would have been exceedingly stable, without the need for stabilizing
arrangements. Am I wrong?
